Nanotechnology: The Future

See the below video by Nokia, which shows the future based on Nanotechnology. It's pretty impressive to see such things which are futuristic. I think we are living in wonderful era with so many inventions.

Here goes the explanation given for it on you tube. And Find out more from Nokia .

Morph is a concept demonstrating some of the possibilities nanotechnologies might enable in future communication devices. Morph can sense its environment, is energy harvesting and self cleaning .
Morph is a flexible two-piece device that can adapt its shape to different use modes. Nanotechnology enables to have adaptive materials yet rigid forms on demand.
It is also featured in the MoMA online exhibition "Design and the Elastic Mind". It has been a collaboration project of Nokia Research Center and Cambridge Nanoscience Center.

Nano-Technology,A.I(Robots),3dholograms
ANN concepts, paper less office, smart cards,Bionics I can list dozens of those stuff they all failed concepts. After the cold war other than computing software world didn't progress as everyone think. The above ones are just confined to Hollywood.

Ex:-Initial development of P.C doesn't to any one,so it change the world as thunder storm, but now if you ask a 10th grade teen he would name all these technologies, these are all mentioned in the magazines, geek speak etc.If everyone say that there is going to be happen certain things definitely they would not occur..!I think you got my point

Hi nimo,

I don't agree on the part that Nano Technology, AI,ANN Concepts are failed concepts.

What is happening is unlike computers & software, these things were theoretical in Nature until 2000,from then onwards they have become part of our lives smart cards,AI(AIBO, ASIMOV etc), but some other technologies took over them which were much simpler than that for example pagers were replaced by Mobile Phones.

I agree that 10th grade teen can mention all this because people of film industry adopted them so much that it seemed all are part of our lives, and internet provided the good source.

And I also agree that world did not progress much other than in terms of software, here too if you analyze you will find that we are fully focused on the application part of so much technologies that took shape before 1995.For example Internet, web 2.0,AI etc.. but we forgot to concentrate towards the Fundamental Sciences as that is less appealing than Computers.

Till the 1950's the branches were much isolated than present day, after that people found many overlapping similarities that diverted people's attention.

Regards,
Kiran

So do you believe that our lives in 2025 or 2030 would be like in Minority Report or irobot

It's all predictions, there are so many elements involved that can change every thing we know.

One thing is sure it will be exiting.
There are experiments being conducted on invisibility, teleportation, time travel with all these its difficult to stick to one point.

For example, if CERN Scientist able to find out Higgs Boson, then the world will be very different, not sure what will be the results of CERN's LHC experiment. If you know or read about Quantum Physics you will come to know what i mean. relation between mind & matter is the main thing as only it's understanding can lead us to some other things.

Hope our Indian Philosophy can give some hints,as mind & matter is its core or central theme.
